Root 52: Georgia Prayer Points

Friday Night Prayer Gathering: Feb 5 @ 7:30 pm CLICK HERE

Preamble:

To perpetuate the principles of free government, insure justice to all, preserve peace, promote the interest and happiness of the citizen and of the family, and transmit to posterity the enjoyment of liberty, we the people of Georgia, relying upon the protection and guidance of Almighty God, do ordain and establish this Constitution.

Dear USRPN Intercessors:

Georgia, may be commonly known as the Peach State, but prophetically, we continue to press forward in agreement with what the Lord has declared us to be as a "Governmental Gate State." During the Root 52 week focusing on Georgia, we want to agree with the Word of the Lord over key issues that relate to the restoration and establishment of our covenant with the Lord, with each other, and with this nation.

Please take the following points of Prophetic Revelation, the accounting of our Covenant Root Condition, and the Encouragement and Hope for the Future as a guide to provide fuel for your intercession during this week.

PROPHETIC REVELATION:

The following are a summary of key prophetic words that have been released over Georgia, providing a glimpse at our destiny to keep us pressing on in faith:

A Governmental Gate

"Georgia is one of My gates in the nation, its a governmental gate -- kingdom authority that has been lying latent, unused over this state. God is about to resurrect it." (Chuck Pierce & Dutch Sheets, 50-State Tour)

A Place for Removal of Hostilities Between Races & Ethnic Groups

"There has to be a removal of hostility between nations and ethnic groups…bondage from the blood shed in this state in past oppressions that is linked with slavery, domination, and ruler-ship. God says, if you release and come before me and ask forgiveness as a people and release that up to me, I will release this land from its cry of the blood that's within it and the governorship of this land..cleanse the hands through the generations that have falsely dominated and wrongly owned and wrongly perpetrated this sin of domination in this state…so that the people of Georgia may hold the sword for the future from the heavens." (Chuck Pierce, 50-State Tour)

A Place of Revolution & Revival in the Land

"I am blowing on the roots of revolution in this nation - I am blowing on the roots of revolution in this nation. The wind of my spirit is being unlocked. It will now blow from North into the South. You are standing in the center of where the headquarters of my revolution for the future of this land will begin. Atlanta will be known as the place of revolution in this land. . .For a revolution must occur to change the course of my covenant plan that has been locked up and diverted. . .This region, the states of the South will be known as the place where revolution broke out to recreate and replant the course of my purpose for this land. . . The fires that once were in this city will arise again. But I say My voice will divide the fires . . .. The prophets of the land will come to this place and they will speak forth. . . I say the fires of revival will begin to be spurned from this area... So I say to you let the revolution begin, for the churches of this region will now begin to hear and experience the fire of change. (Chuck Pierce, State Meeting 2007)

A Place for the Unlocking & Rising Up of Leaders

Lord, we say unlock leadership. There are Eli's in this area. There's a transfer of power from the Eli's ... we declare that the slumber come off the leadership of Georgia ... we break a power off of Georgia. Lord, we declare that Samuels ... and Davids...and Joshuas ... and Peters ... and James ... and Johns ... will arise in Georgia. We declare Deborahs to rise up. We declare Esthers to come forth. We declare Daniels will awake. Father, we say...unlock. Unlock the generation that is rising. (Dutch Sheets, 50-State Tour)

COVENANT ROOT CONDITION:

In the fall of 2009, in a conversation with Chuck Pierce, he shared that in the beginning Georgia had one of the strongest covenant roots, but that through years of disobedience and rebellion it had been snuffed out. It must be restored.

Georgia's original covenant root evidences:

Care, Provision, and Opportunity for the Poor: By such a Colony, many families, who would otherwise starve, will be provided for, and made masters of houses and lands (Georgia Charter) The motto on the seal of the Trustees spoke but the language of truth: Non sibi sed aliis-Not for ourselves, but for others.

Religious Freedom, Refuge and advancement of Christianity: "...Giving refuge to the distressed Saltzburghers, and other persecuted Protestants....Christianity will be extended by the execution of this design...the example of a whole Colony who shall behave in a just, moral, and religious manner..." George Whitfield, the most eloquent preacher of his times, also came to Georgia and founded an orphan school in Savannah. (http://www.usahistory.info/southern/Georgia.html )

Jewish Settlers arrived and were welcomed in 1733: forty Jews sailed from London, or, in the language of the original memorandum (kept in Hebrew, and still preserved in this city), "...voluntarily embarked from London, and paid their passages thence to this country, and arrived in Savannah, in the state of Georgia, on the eleventh day of July 1733." Worship by the Jewish settlers was known and evidenced, the third oldest Jewish congregation in America is in Savannah. (http://www.jewish-history.com/Occident/volume1/aug1843/savannah.html and http://www.mickveisrael.org /)

Oglethorpe & Native Americans (Upper Creek): Oglethorpe pursued relationship with area Indians and built relationship with the To-mo-chi-chi, who later accompanied Oglethorpe to England

Slavery was forbidden at the founding of Georgia and remained so through Oglethorpe's tenure as governor. While some among the colony's settlers pressed for slavery to be allowed, others, such as the Salzburgers, the Scotch Highlanders, and the Wesley brothers (John & Charles) remained opponents. The ban on slavery was lifted in 1749 by the English Parliament. (http://www.usahistory.info/southern/Georgia.html )

Damaging of our Covenant Root: Obviously, many things have contributed to the condition of the covenant root in Georgia, including, but not limited to,

✴ Removal of the ban on slavery and subsequent support and defense of slavery,

✴ Broken Treaties and forced confiscation of land from Native Americans, especially with the Native American Removal Act

✴ Legalism related to freedom of worship and Christian living resulting in religious culture lacking in zeal and passion of relationship with Christ and spreading of the Gospel

✴ Influence of Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism and other religions are on the rise across the state. The country's largest Hindu temple is in metro-Atlanta, and Georgia is home to hundreds of Islamic mosque, training centers, and establishments.

✴ Oppression of the poor and needy, separation between the rich and the poor, and segregation among racial and ethnic groups

✴ Radical decline in morality and righteousness.

✴ On January 20, 2010, The Advocate Magazine rates Atlanta as the nation's gayest city, "based on same-sex households per capita, statewide marriage equality, gay elecred officials, gay dating and "hookup" profiles per single male population, gay bars per capita, cruising spots per capita, and gay films in Netflix favorites." (www.ajc.com )

✴ Sex Trade and Child Exploitation in metroAtlanta is a huge issue (http://www.innocenceatlanta.org/content/about )

Obviously, we are not proud about any of these issues, and many others that are not mentioned in this document. However, we firmly believe that to properly address the ills that plague our state, and our nation, we must be honest, transparent, and willing to address these issues by repentance, intercession, and involvement.

Encouragement & Hope for the Future

God is doing much across the state and we see signs of restoration of our covenant root rising. Prophetically, as I look out across Georgia I see new life springing forth in like the new growth of Spring, as when the roots that have lain dormant during a long season of drought suddenly burst through the ground and blossom with signs of the coming harvest.

Recently, we came out of a historical drought with a floods that were the worst in over a 100 years (Sept 2009). The rains have continued to come, even with a bit of snow thrown in as a surprise, and Georgia is now 100% drought free! The lakes are brimming over and as it is in the natural, I see, by the Spirit, that the water level of Holy Spirit is rising and our covenant roots are being resurrected with new life that will bear much fruit for the Kingdom.

Isaiah 55:10-13

As the rain and the snow

come down from heaven,

and do not return to it

without watering the earth

and making it bud and flourish,

so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,

11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth:

It will not return to me empty,

but will accomplish what I desire

and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

12 You will go out in joy

and be led forth in peace;

the mountains and hills

will burst into song before you,

and all the trees of the field

will clap their hands.

13 Instead of the thornbush will grow the pine tree,

and instead of briers the myrtle will grow.

This will be for the LORD's renown,

for an everlasting sign,

which will not be destroyed."

In trying times it is important that we align - or realign - our words (both spoken and written), our thoughts, and our beliefs to line up with the Word of God. When things gets tough we must guard our hearts from agreeing with anything that is contrary to what God has spoken in His Word and prophetically. This article provides some solid Biblical truths to help us align with God during trying times.
The Lord is rekindling an awakening of the Spirit of Intercession in the Body through the telling of the old, old stories of His displaying the love, mercy, grace and power of Christ throughout the ages. We have entered into a season to "recover" all that has been lost, stolen, or left behind in our families, communities and nations. It is time for a fresh fire to burn within the people of God today with a passionate desperation for the promises of the Lord to come forth in power. Read, rehearse, pray, and share the stories of old believing that our God will yet do it again in our day.
The Lord began to speak about His weaving of a tapestry in these days that will reveal the Glory of the Lord as we come together from various streams in humility to seek His face and do His will. The tapestry He is weaving is glorious. . .
